Q 1. 순차 통역과 동시 통역은 무슨 차이인가요?

What is the difference between sequential interpretation and simultaneous interpretation?

A 1. 순차 통역은 순차적으로 이루어지는 통역으로 말-통역-말-통역 순으로 진행됩니다. 순차적으로 진행되기 때문에 말을 하는 도중 통역이 진행되지 않습니다.

주로 비즈니스 미팅 때나 긴 시간 동안의 세미나 등에 사용되는 방식으로 조금 더 정확하게 통역이 진행됩니다.

보통 ppt 슬라이드별, 단락별, 또는 1~5분 동안 말 진행 후 통역이 진행됩니다.

동시 통역은 말을 하는 도중 통역이 진행되는 방식으로 주로 통역 부스가 있는 컨퍼런스에서 사용됩니다.

Sequential interpretation is done sequentially(Talk-interpretation-talk-interpretation).

It is often used for business meetings or long-hour seminars for more precise interpretation.

The interpretation is provided after a paragraph, a slide, or 1-5 minutes of talk.

Simultaneous interpretation is done at the same period of the talk which is mostly done in a special interpretation booth.

Q 2. 위스퍼링 통역과 동시통역은 무슨 차이인가요?

What is the difference between whispering interpretation and simultaneous interpretation?

A 2. 위스퍼링(Whispering=속삭이다) 통역은 속삭이듯이 진행되는 동시통역으로, 통역사 1인이 진행하며, 통역을 들을 당사자가 1-2인일 때만 가능합니다.

청자가 3인 이상인 경우에는 일반적인 동시통역으로 적용됩니다.

Whispering interpretation is simultaneous interpretation only when the listener is 1 or 2 people, which is handled by 1 interpreter whispering next to the client.

If the listeners are more than 2 people, a normal simultaneous interpretation will be given by 2 interpreters in a special interpretation booth.

Q 3. 여러 명이 참여하는 컨퍼런스 콜에 대화 참여 없이 저희 팀만 통역만 듣고 싶습니다. 위스퍼링 통역으로는 어려울까요?

We want to just listen and understand what is going on in the meeting without participating in the talk. Could we have whispering interpretation?

A 3. 위에 안내된대로 현장에서 1-2명에게만 통역을 진행하는 경우가 아니라면, 모두 동시통역입니다.

또한, 대화 중단 없이 통역을 계속 진행해야 하므로, 순차통역이 이루어질 수 없습니다.

As described in Answer 2, if the listener is more than 2 people, whispering interpretation cannot be given. It HAS to be regular simultaneous interpretation

with 2 interpreters in a special interpretation booth.

Moreover, as the interpreter cannot interrupt the meeting for interpretation, sequential interpretation services is not possible as well.

Q 4. 동시통역은 꼭 2인 1조로 구성되어야 하나요?

Must simultaneous interpretation require 2 interpreters? Can it be just one interpreter?

A 4. 동시통역은 고도의 집중력을 요하는 통역으로 1인 통역사가 한 번에 최대 30분까지 진행 가능합니다.

따라서, 동시통역은 필히 통역사 2인이 한 조를 이루어 20~30분에 한 번씩 교대하여 통역 진행하여야 합니다.

두 통역사가 서로 교체 사인 등을 주고 받으면서 통역 대상자의 대화 내용에 집중하여 들으며 통역하기 위해 외부의 소음과 완전히 단절된 채로 진행하여야 하므로

모든 참여자와 분리된 음압 부스 또는 방음이 잘 되고 소리 공명이 이루어지지 않는 작은 공간이 준비되어야 하며,

오프라인 컨퍼런스의 경우, 통역용 헤드셋, 스피커, 컨퍼런스 참여자가 통역을 들을 수 있는 리시버 장비 등이 필요합니다. (해당 장비 운영 및 렌탈은 제휴 업체에 연결해드립니다.)

Simultaneous interpreting requires a high level of concentration and can last up to 30 minutes at a time for a single interpreter.

Therefore, simultaneous interpreting must be done in pairs of two interpreters, alternating every 20 to 30 minutes.

The two interpreters must be completely isolated from outside noise in order to listen intently to the interpreter's conversation while exchanging signals, etc.

A sound pressure booth or a small room that is soundproofed and free of sound resonance should be provided that is separate from all participants.

For offline conferences, headsets for interpreters, speakers, and receiver equipment for conference participants to hear the interpretation are required.

* 야간 업무(22시~07시 사이) 비용: 기존 요금의 1.5배

Night work (between 22:00 and 07:00): 1.5 times the existing rate

* 100만 원 이하 건: 전액 선입금 원칙으로 결제 완료와 함께 해당 시간 예약이 완료됩니다.

For events of KRW 1 million or less: Full prepayment is required, and the time will be reserved upon completion of payment.

* 100만 원 초과의 경우, 50% 선금, 50% 행사 종료 당일까지 입금을 원칙으로 합니다.

For projects, over 1 million won: 50% advance payment, 50% payment by the day of the event.

* 클라이언트 사정으로 결제가 늦어질 경우 행사 종료일 기준 최대 7일을 기한으로 합니다. (50% 선금 지급 필수)

In case of late payment due to the client's circumstances, the deadline is up to 7 days from the end of the event (50% upfront payment is required)

* 해외 출장의 경우, 전액 비행기 탑승 전에 입금되어야 합니다.

For overseas business trips, the full amount must be deposited before boarding the plane.

If the interpretation is recorded and transmitted, distributed, or further processed, 1.5 times the fee if only the interpreter's voice is exposed and 2 times the fee

if the face is exposed will be charged as an interpretation copyright usage fee.

* 법인 카드 결제(5% 수수료), 해외 법인 카드 결제(5% 수수료), 계산서 발행 및 계좌이체 모두 가능합니다.

Corporate card payment (5% fee), overseas corporate card payment (5% fee), invoicing, and bank transfer are all available.

*행사가 예정보다 일찍 종료되어도 예약된 시간에 대한 비용은 환불 불가능합니다.

Even if the meeting or conference has ended earlier than expected, the fee for the booked period is not refundable.

*통역 의뢰 취소 시 취소 수수료가 부과됩니다. (당일 취소: 100% 전날: 70%, 2일: 50%, 3일: 30%)

If a client cancels the project, there will be refund fees. (the day of the project: 100% of the entire fee, 1 day before: 70%, 2 days before: 30%, 3 days before: 30%)

*50% 선입금 원칙으로 잔금은 완성본 확인 후 입금 진행합니다.

50% deposit in advance, the balance will be paid after checking the finished copy.

* 번역 업무 착수 시 해당 선금은 환불이 불가능합니다.

The deposit is non-refundable once the translation work is started.

* 번역 업무 완료 시 전체 번역료는 환불이 불가능합니다.

The entire translation fee is non-refundable upon completion of the translation project.

* 번역 수정은 200자 미만으로 최대 2번 수정 의뢰하실 수 있습니다.

You can request up to 2 revisions for translations with less than 200 characters.
